
Executive Education is one of the two core competencies of the CCC—the other being Research. Executive Education, including training programmes and seminars, is delivered on a tailor-made basis.
With nearly two decades of experience supporting Chinese and European companies and institutions through customized engagements, the CCC has developed a distinctive pedagogical method that integrates three learning approaches:
The combination of study, experience, and exchange create the greatest value when fully integrated—in line with the University of St. Gallen’s values.
Each CCC programme is led by at least one Academic Director, whose role is to connect the dots, facilitate sense-making, and adapt the learning journey in real time based on participants’ inputs, reflections, and decisions.
As a result, each participant develops their own integrated perspective. Participants leave with relevant insights and strong inspiration for transformative initiatives within their organizations—whether in international business, sustainability, strategy or leadership.

Programme topics include International Business; Sustainability (including Net Zero Carbon); Transformational Leadership for CEOs; Women’s Leadership; Geopolitics; Western Values and Narratives; Sustainable Finance; Global Investment Strategy; Private Equity; Elite Systems and Global Trends; and Ethics.
A strong example of successful programme implementation is our long-standing collaboration with Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management (SEM) and the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). Together, we have developed executive education programmes focused on international management and sustainable value creation.

Integrative thinking is most effective when the learning journey and its interactions are informed by powerful, well-defined ideas; novel theories that meaningfully explain how the world works; and rigorous empirical research that reveals actionable relationships.
Accordingly, the many “dots” connected in CCC Executive Education programmes are firmly rooted in the Center’s own research and knowledge-generation activities. These programmes are grounded in research relevant to Chinese companies as they internationalize and pursue global growth and innovation strategies, as well as to Swiss and other Western firms operating in China and engaged in international investment, trade, and technological exchange.
More specifically, the CCC’s research encompasses sustainable value creation at the firm level; analyses of Free Trade Agreements; surveys of Western businesses in China and Chinese businesses in Switzerland; comparative research on Elite Quality in China and globally; financial value creation benchmarks; the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI); economic development models such as the Hefei Model; the emergence of artificial intelligence in China; and the evolving narrative markets and assocaited policymaking.
Importantly, the CCC has also developed ethical frameworks that inform its educational offerings. We do not shy away from integrating moral philosophy, the politics of technology, and broader societal considerations into the learning journey.

Mastering the complexities of the Chinese market and its competitive landscape constitutes an essential competence for international competitiveness. The CCC functions as a strategic knowledge partner, providing insight into value chain activities and opportunities throughout the China ecosystem.
CCC programmes in and about China draw upon the extensive networks and relationships of the University of St. Gallen and its constituent institutes, schools, and competence centers. Additionally, partnering organizations in China provide access to substantial networks and knowledge resources.
For Swiss and Western enterprises, the CCC delivers customized programmes and knowledge support designed to formulate optimal strategies for China market entry and expansion. To enable organizations to comprehend and capitalize on China's potential, we develop a variety of learning formats for management teams, top executives and boards/CEOs. At times our programmes integrate Chinese stakeholder groups.
Some engagements are structured block seminars or workshops in Europe, while more complex initiatives require faculty-guided study trips that combine lectures, company visits and other experiences, and exchanges with local business leaders in destinations like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, or Hefei. Programme options span from targeted learning initiatives addressing very specific strategic challenges—such as M&A integration, growth strategies, AI and technology partnerships, and regulatory compliance—to comprehensive two-week immersive study programmes covering Chinese systems of thought and culture, technology, and geopolitics.
