The Centre for Education and Social Transformation (CEST) at the University of St. Gallen advances Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research at the intersection of education, society and sustainability. We examine how transformation unfolds in complex social contexts and translate scientific knowledge into meaningful societal impact. Through participatory, stakeholder-focused approaches, we bridge research, policy and practice across individual, organisational and systemic levels.
As a competence centre complemented by our SCLab, CEST contributes to multiple Horizon Europe projects addressing social, economic and environmental transformation. We strengthen interdisciplinary consortia through expertise in socio-economic impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, governance and education-driven innovation - supporting the design and implementation of solutions that are scientifically robust, socially relevant and sustainable.
