The Student-Centred Learning Lab (SCLab) offers professional development workshops worldwide to foster a deeper understanding of the theory and practice of student-centred learning and teaching (SCLT) and student-centred learning environments (SCLE). These environments aim to foster more meaningful learning processes and outcomes for all students.
Our works spans theory, policy, and practice - from analysing educational reforms and equity challenges to implementing SCLT strategies in real-world classrooms.
Theoretical Foundations of SCLT: roots and evolution of the concept, (new) theoretical perspectives, frameworks and meanings (e.g. definitions, features, distinctions) in different education contexts and disciplines;
Student-Centred Education Policy: national and international policies to promote SCLT (student-centered learning and instruction), (higher) education reforms (curricular, governance, funding) and modernisationinitiatives (policy goals, measures);
Sociology of SCLT: equity in education (e.g. graduation and drop out rates, socio-economic background), learning opportunities for a diverse student body, widening access and participation;
SCLT Effectiveness Research: effectiveness studies comprising single classes, whole institutions or comparative research, including metaanalyses and metasyntheses;
SCLT Educational Practice: implementation of the concept in real-life (higher education) classrooms, good practices, classroom examples, and challenges.
